FSCRA Race #6 | What Could Have Been…

Coming off a strong Race #5, I had high hopes for this weekend—and things started out on the right foot. With Chuck LaHorgue stepping in as Crew Chief and spotter, it felt like school was officially in session.

The car was solid right out of the gate in open practice, giving Chuck a good baseline to work with. After some debriefing, we made a couple small tweaks for Practice #2 that instantly showed results. Another adjustment later, and the car really came alive. Qualifying landed us a solid P3.

Heat Race: Started inside row 3 (pretty much my new normal), but this time I threaded through traffic quickly—took the lead on lap 3 and held it for the win with the 24 and 72 close behind.

35-Lap Main: Confidence was high. The car felt great in the 8-lap heat, and we were ready to see what it could do over 35. Started inside row 3 again, and the opening laps looked promising—nearly a replay of the heat race. But just as I went to make a move on the 00 for the lead, the transmission (which had been fighting me all day) had other plans. It locked up the rear tires, sent me spinning to the infield, and refused to go back into gear. Despite our best efforts in the pits, it just wasn’t meant to be. First DNF of the season—but not a loss. A lesson.

Next up: Cruise’n with the Cops car show this Sunday in Gresham, OR—a great chance to showcase the car and thank my Primary Sponsors right near their Troutdale headquarters.

Huge thanks to Chuck for his knowledge and effort this weekend—I know he was just as disappointed in the outcome. Big shoutout to Jaime for lending a hand in the pits, and as always, thanks to Joe, Scott, and Mike for their unwavering support every week, race day or not.

Thanks to my Great Sponsors:

The Season Finale is September 20th.

Race Recap #2

Back at it for race number two this weekend — repaired car, borrowed shocks, and hoping to rebound from the rough opener. Huge thanks to longtime BRW crewman Troy for making his return to South Sound
