Race Recap #3

What began as a promising race weekend ended with a crash course in disappointment.

The day kicked off with a decent practice session. The car felt okay, but as always, it could use a little TLC. Made a few tweaks for qualifying, but thanks to a caution in group qualifying, nobody managed to lay down a good lap. Group qualifying: one of my least favorite things, right up there with pineapple on pizza. Still, I snagged P2.

Lined up on the inside of the 2nd row in the 4-car, 8-lap heat race, right behind the 12 car, who seems to have a personal vendetta against me. Lol.  After finally overtaking, I set my sights on the 17 and 24 cars, but alas, not enough laps to make it happen.

For the Main event, I made a few adjustments to tackle the handling issues from the heat race. Started in my usual spot, row 2 behind the 12. Just as I managed to get by on lap 3, the caution flag waved. After a long red flag to clean up oil on the track, I was ready to restart, but in my excitement, I shifted from 3rd to 4th gear and got the transmission stuck. My race ended before it really began. Disappointed and frustrated? That’s putting it mildly.

Big thanks to Ava, Nick, and Mike for their pit support and spotting skills.

And a huge shoutout to my amazing sponsors:
